CSTS 2020 – Construction Safety Training System

CSTS 2020 is a mandatory safety course required for access to many construction and industrial worksites. This guide is here to help Local 110 members complete the course smoothly and make sure your certification is properly recorded with the Training Department.

What is CSTS 2020?

CSTS 2020 is an online, self‑paced safety program delivered through the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA). It covers essential workplace safety topics and includes short tests after each module.

  • Format: Online / On‑Demand
  • Time to Complete:  2–3 hours
  • Cost:  Free
  • Certification:  CSTS 2020 – Fundamentals Certificate

Course Modules

CSTS 2020 includes nine modules:

  • Worker and Employer Responsibilities
  • Work Site Expectations
  • Hazard Management
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Manual Lifting
  • Hand Tools
  • Noise
  • WHMIS
  • Emergency Response Preparedness

To pass, you must score 80% or higher on each module.

 How to Take CSTS 2020

  1. Visit the ACSA MyLearning platform:

  1. Create an account or log in.
  1. Search for:

“Construction Safety Training System (CSTS 2020) – Fundamentals”

  1. Enroll in the course (no payment required).
  2. Disable pop‑up blockers before launching.
  3. Complete all nine modules at your own pace.
  4. Download or save your CSTS certificate.

Technical Requirements

  • Works on most computers, tablets, and mobile devices
  • Internet connection required
  • Pop‑up blockers must be disabled

To check browser settings:

  • Click your initials (top‑right of MyLearning)
  • Select Settings
  • Choose Is My Browser Supported
  • Ensure the Pop‑up Blocker status shows a green checkmark ✔️

Make sure your CSTS 2020 certificate is submitted to the Local 110 Training Department so your training records remain current and you stay eligible for dispatch.
