The Wellness of Workers (WoW) Centre opened in September of 2011. The goal of WoW is to assess your risk of developing chronic illness, particularly heart and lung problems. You and your family members covered under your benefit plan can book an appointment for a one hour nurse consultation to complete the health risk assessment. Members will have the consultation done plus a Pulmonary Function Test and Chest X Ray. The Occupational Medicine Specialist reviews each person’s risk assessment and test results (if applicable) and makes recommendations. Should a health issue be identified the Occ. RN will coordinate appointments and follow up with the member. Dr. Naseem, the Occupational Medicine Specialist, has written a letter to the members of Local 110 about the exposure risks members encounter due to their occupation.
